What is CIWG Category in the DASA Scheme?
CIWG means Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries. CIWG is a category under DASA scheme, started by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, for the children of Indian expatriates (NRIs/OCIs/PIOs) in Gulf countries who want to study in top engineering colleges like NITs and IIITs.

What are the benefits of CIWG DASA Scheme?
There are two key benefits for CIWG in the DASA scheme : 1) Reserved seats for CIWG candidates in all colleges, 2) Have to pay the same college fee as students in India.
What are the number of seats available for CIWG in the DASA Scheme?
5% supernumerary seats (within 15% of supernumerary quota of DASA) are reserved for CIWG category, i.e., 1/3rd seats from DASA quota is reserved for CIWG. List of CIWG, non-CIWG and Total seats in various Institutes : CIWG Quota Seats
NRI candidates who are eligible for CIWG Category will have the option to be considered for other seats of DASA as well. In order to avail this option candidates have to deposit the same initial fee as applicable to DASA (Non-SAARC) category candidates. In case, final admission is given to you in CIWG Category, the balance amount of fee will be refunded.
What will be the college fee for CIWG students in the DASA Scheme?

Which colleges/ institutions and streams are available for CIWG candidates under DASA Scheme?
The provisional list of participating institutions (including NITs and IIITs) which are covered under DASA scheme and have CIWG quota for admission to Undergraduate programmes in Engineering/ Architecture/ Planning : Participating Institutions
CIWG category students can take admissions in all the available streams like Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Engineering (CE), Mechanical Engg.(MEC), Information Technology, Software Engg, etc.
What's the Academic Eligibility for the CIWG category in DASA?
CIWG applicants should have completed successfully Mathematics, Physics and one of the subjects from (Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) in 11th AND / OR 12th, as applicable in the respective boards.
CIWG applicants must have secured a minimum of at least 60% aggregate marks (average of all subjects of qualifying examination taken together) or 6.50 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent in the qualifying examination. In case, CGPA on a different scale is awarded OR if only grades are awarded, percentage/CGPA equivalence provided by the principal examination authorities will only be considered.
What is the Residential Requirement for CIWG in DASA?
The residential requirement for CIWG shall be at least two years of education, inclusive of 11th & 12th or equivalent (not beyond), in a gulf country during the last 8 years and must pass the qualifying examination from abroad.
How to Apply for CIWG DASA Scheme?

Will CIWG admissions be on the basis of SAT Subject Tests or JEE Main?
For DASA 2020, CIWG admissions will be on the basis of SAT Subject Tests. Applicants should have a minimum total valid score of 1800 in SAT Subject Tests (Subjects: Mathematics Level 2, Physics and Chemistry).
