Can NRI students write the IIT JEE entrance exam?
Yes, NRI students can write IIT JEE entrance exam, provided they fulfill all the eligibility criteria like age limit, appearance and performance in Grade XII (or equivalent) examination, etc. for JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
Is there any NRI quota in IIT?
No, there is no NRI quota in IITs. NRI students, just like Indian Nationals, have to clear the cut-off for JEE Advanced and admission will happen on the basis of their ranks. Students need to first qualify JEE Main and then clear JEE Advanced for admission in IITs.
Can NRI students write JEE Main?
Yes, NRI students can write JEE Main exam which is the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced. Students can give JEE Main exam 2 times in a year.

Not exactly an NRI quota, NITs have some reserved seats for NRI students under the DASA scheme. The number of seats in DASA quota is 15% of the total seats in the institute. Admissions in DASA/ CIWG seats will happen on the basis of JEE Main rank.
How many NRI quota seats in NIT Calicut, Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal?
According to the DASA seat matrix, there are 74 NRI quota seats in NIT Calicut, 54 NRI quota seats in NIT Trichy, 70 NRI quota seats in NIT Warangal and 41 NRI quota seats in NIT Surathkal.
Is there an NRI quota in IIITs?
Yes, there are some reserved seats for NRI students in IIITs (comes under the DASA scheme) and admissions will happen on the basis of JEE Main ranks.

Gulf quota in engineering colleges in India is a special quota provided by MHRD, Government of India, under DASA scheme for the children of gulf workers in countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain. 1/3rd seats from DASA scheme in NITs, IIITs and other premier technical institutions is reserved for gulf quota.
