The Board will use different sets of question papers on the different shifts on different dates of examination. JEE Main 2018 Online Application Form

The aspiring candidates have to apply online through JEE Main website. The online application for JEE Main 2018 can be filled from 1st December, 2017 to 1st January, 2018. The fee can be paid upto 2nd January, 2018.

JEE Main 2018 Exam pattern

The Paper-1 (B.E./B. Tech.) of JEE Main 2018 will be conducted in two separate modes i.e. Offline (Pen and Paper Based Examination) mode and Online (Computer Based Examination) mode. The Paper-2 (B. Arch./B. Planning.) of JEE (Main) will be conducted only in Pen and Paper based examination mode. A candidate will opt for either Pen and Paper Based or Computer Based examination modes for Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.) only.

  • The duration of exam (both Paper-1 and Paper-2) will be 3 hours.
  • Paper-1 would contain 3 sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Paper-2 would contain Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing test.
  • Every correct answer gives you 4 marks while one 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

What's new in JEE Main 2018? As of now, it's the same as JEE Main 2017.

  • All the Indian citizen candidates (except students of J&K, Assam & Meghalaya) should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI.
  • Weightage to School Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent examination will not be considered for JEE Main 2018.
  • The eligibility criteria of JEE Main 2018 (Admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs) will be the same like JEE Advanced i.e. 75% marks or be in top 20 percentile in class 12th or equivalent examination. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
  • The States of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Nagaland, Odisha & some other institutions have joined JEE Main system. The candidates in these states are advised to fill the JEE Main 2018 application form.

JEE Main 2018 AADHAAR Card Requirement

Applicants who are in possession of Aadhaar, shall enter Aadhaar number, name, date of birth & gender in online application for JEE Main 2018 for the purpose of his/her identity and authentication thereof. Applicants not yet enrolled for Aadhaar, are hereby required to make application for Aadhaar enrolment in case he/she is entitled to obtain Aadhaar as per section 3 of Aadhaar Act. Such applicant may visit any Aadhaar enrolment center (list available at www.uidai.gov.in) to get enrolled for Aadhaar.

The candidates who have enrolled for Aadhaar and have not received Aadhaar should enter 14 digit Aadhaar Enrolment ID printed on the Aadhaar enrolment slip at the time of filling online application form for JEE Main 2018.

The Aadhaar Card is not required for students of states – J&K, Assam & Meghalaya. They need to enter any other valid Govt. identity number (like ration card number, bank account number, etc.) provided they should select the city of examination in these states only.

NRI students can apply for JEE Main 2018 using their Passport details. No Aadhaar Card required for NRI aspirants.

JEE Main 2018 Exam centres

JEE (Main) - 2018 will be conducted in major cities and towns of India as well as abroad. While applying, candidates must select four centre cities in case of Pen & Paper based examination and one city in case of Computer based examination.

If the number of candidates for Computer based examination is less than 50 in a city on a particular date then such candidates will be allotted last day of the computer based examination in the same city.
