As per the JoSAA Seat Matrix 2024, there are a total of 17,740 seats in IIT in India. Out of these 17,740 seats, 6819 are for general category, 356 for OPEN-PwD, 1694 for GEN-EWS, 86 for GEN-EWS-PwD, 2532 for SC, 132 for SC-PwD, 1276 for ST, 56 for ST-PwD, 4558 for OBC-NCL, 231 for OBC-NCL-PwD. The total seats in IITs includes 1725 female supernumerary seats for girls.
Number of Seats in IIT for Computer Science
There are 2017 Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) seats in IIT. Among the top IITs, IIT Bombay has 199 CSE seats, IIT Delhi has 99 CSE seats and IIT Madras has 87 CSE seats.

Out of these 24,229 seats, 9296 are for general category, 474 for OPEN-PwD, 2271 for GEN-EWS, 134 for GEN-EWS-PwD, 3423 for SC, 184 for SC-PwD, 2014 for ST, 101 for ST-PwD, 6018 for OBC-NCL, 314 for OBC-NCL-PwD. The total seats in NITs includes 657 Female Supernumerary seats for girls.
Number of Seats in IIIT in India
As per the JoSAA Seat Matrix 2024, there are a total of 8,546 seats in IIIT in India. Out of these 8546 seats, 3335 are for general category, 159 for OPEN-PwD, 817 for GEN-EWS, 33 for GEN-EWS-PwD, 1212 for SC, 59 for SC-PwD, 614 for ST, 23 for ST-PwD, 2186 for OBC-NCL, 108 for OBC-NCL-PwD.
