NEET 2019 (February and May) Examination Details

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) is a single medical entrance examination for Admission to MBBS and BDS courses in all medical colleges (except AIIMS and JIPMER) around the country. The exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in February and May 2019.

NEET-UG 2019 entrance test will be conducted for the 100% merit positions in the Medical/Dental Colleges of India. There are also State Governments/Universities/Institutions participating in the NEET-UG 2019 for using its merit list for admission in the Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges against seats under their control.

NEET 2019

UPDATE on July 7, 2018 : NEET-UG will be conducted twice a year from 2019. It will be conducted by National Testing Agency in computer-based mode. NEET-UG 2019 will be conducted in February and May 2019. Students will have the choice to attempt both or one, the best score will be taken into account while giving admission. The syllabus and pattern will remain the same.

NEET 2019 Exam Pattern (for February and May 2019)

NEET 2019 computer-based entrance test shall consist of one paper of duration 03 hours.

Sections: Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology)
Total No. Of Questions: 180 Objective type questions
Physics : 45 questions
Chemistry : 45 questions
Biology (Botany + zoology) : 90 questions

Each question carry 4 marks for every correct answer. There is also negative marking, deducting 1 mark for every wrong answer.

NEET 2019 Eligibility Criteria for February and May Computer-Based Tests:

The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio-technology at the qualifying examination.

For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General candidates. Further, for persons for locomotor disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required.

Those who are appearing in Class XII examination in 2019 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

How to Apply for NEET 2019 February and May Exams

  • Candidates can apply ONLY ONLINE on NTA website. Read the instructions carefully before applying for NEET 2019.
  • Online Application Form cannot be withdrawn once it is submitted successfully.
  • The candidate is NOT required to submit printout of the Confirmation Page to the NTA.
  • There will be only 3 attempts limit for appearing in NEET-UG.
