IIT JEE Exam Pattern 2026 | JEE Main Paper Pattern [Latest]
IIT JEE exam is conducted in two parts – JEE Main and Advanced. NTA sets the exam pattern for JEE Main while JEE Advanced pattern is designed by the IIT JAB examination body. Here we will see the IIT JEE 2026 exam pattern including JEE Main paper pattern, questions type, subject & section-wise marks distribution.
Note : NTA has removed the optional selection of questions in Section B of each subject. Section B will contain only 5 questions and candidates will be required to attempt all 5 questions without any option for selection in JEE Mains 2026 Paper 1, Paper 2A and Paper 2B. The detailed pattern of examination will be available in the information bulletin of JEE Main 2026.

JEE Main consists of 2 papers – Paper-1 for BE/ BTech, Paper-2A for B.Arch and Paper-2B for B.Planning. A candidate can give both JEE Main Paper-1 and Paper-2 depending on the course he/ she is interested in pursuing.
