1. Consistency Creates Momentum
When you’re starting JEE/NEET preparation, study every day. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the mood to study. What matters ultimately is that you’re in the habit of sitting and studying.
Momentum is based on the idea that an object in motion stays in motion. This is why it’s more effective to study 4-5 hours every day than it is to study 15-20 hours once or twice a week.
When we are consistent with anything that we do, we stay in motion. When we stay in motion we gather momentum, which helps in effective preparation.
2. Consistency Increases Your Willpower
One of the most important thing in JEE/NEET preparation is your ambition and will power to clear the exam. Willpower is the ability to resist short-term temptations and desires in order to achieve long-term goals.
Having something that you do every single day actually reduces decision fatigue and increases your willpower to achieve the result.
You can exercise your determination with small things like deciding to complete a topic today and make sure you complete it at the end of the day.
3. Consistency Helps Turn Habits into a Part of Your Identity
If you study consistently over a period of time, then you will not need to monitor whether you are studying 4-5 hours daily. You will do it so much that it becomes a part of your identity. This is called identity-based habit formation.
