NEET Medical Entrance Examination

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) is a single medical entrance examination for Admission to MBBS and BDS courses in all medical colleges (except AIIMS and JIPMER) around the country. The exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

NEET 2017 entrance test will be conducted for the 100% merit positions in the Medical/Dental Colleges of India. Update March 31, 2017 : Candidates above 25 years can appear for NEET-UG 2017. The last date to fill the online application is by April 5.

NEET 2017 Aadhaar Card Requirement

Update January 31, 2017 : Aadhaar Card is mandatory for all state candidates except J&K, Assam and Meghalaya. For NRIs, Foreign Nationals, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI’s), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO’s), Passport Number is the mandatory requirement for filling up of the online application of NEET-2017.

NEET 2017 entrance test shall consist of one paper of duration 03 hours.

How to Apply for NEET 2017

  • Candidates can apply ONLY ONLINE on CBSE NEET website. Online application form for NEET 2017 can be filled from 31 January 2017 to 1st March 2017.
  • Online Application Form cannot be withdrawn once it is submitted successfully.
  • The candidate is NOT required to submit printout of the Confirmation Page to the CBSE.
  • There will be only 3 attempts limit for appearing in NEET-UG.
  • The upper age limit for NEET is 25 years as on the date of examination with relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST category.

NEET 2017 Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio-technology at the qualifying examination.

For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General candidates. Further, for persons for locomotor disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required.

Those who are appearing in Class XII examination in 2017 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.
