\"AFMC<\/p>\n

Getting selected in AFMC is not just based on your marks in NEET. It is a different ball game. I was blessed enough to get selected in AFMC (Armed Forces Medical College) and spent 10 days as an MBBS student there. However, I couldn\u2019t continue due to personal reasons.<\/p>\n

AFMC Selection Process<\/h2>\n

The candidates applying for MBBS at AFMC Pune are initially shortlisted for the screening process based on the merit in the NEET-UG examination. The AFMC screening process<\/a> involves medical examination, TOELR (Test of English Language, Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning), PAT (Psychological Assessment Test) and Personal Interview, at AFMC Pune.<\/p>\n

Note :<\/strong> This is an old post, based on my experience in AFMC. Marks required in NEET (mentioned in the below points) for AFMC MBBS admission will be higher now.<\/p>\n

How to Get Selected in AFMC?<\/h2>\n

Here are some requirements for getting selected in AFMC.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. You have to score well in the NEET<\/a> exam to get admission in AFMC. All my batchmates were good rankers<\/strong>, the last boy to get admission had a NEET score between 551\u2013560.<\/li>\n
  2. The AFMC cutoff for both boys and girls was 551 marks in NEET. Although due to higher competition amongst girls, most of my batchmates had scores ranging from 590\u2013645.<\/li>\n
  3. You should be healthy to get selected in AFMC. There were people with high ranks who were not selected due to reasons best known to the judges. However, some were not selected due to health reasons<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Your eyesight should not be very weak. If you have really weak eye sight then there are high chances of not getting selected in AFMC.<\/li>\n
  5. You should be good in extra curricular activities.<\/strong> This will make a considerable difference in the AFMC selection process.<\/li>\n
  6. Do not lie to the judges<\/strong>. They do a test beforehand to get information about your psych and they know when you are lying.<\/li>\n
  7. Be intellectual, interesting and confident. After all, you\u2019re going to serve in the army and don\u2019t expect any leniency on their part to allow any nonsense.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    How many students get selected in AFMC every year?<\/h3>\n

    There are a total of 150 students who get selected in the AFMC MBBS course every year. Out of 150 seats, 115 seats are for boys, 30 for girls and 5 seats are for sponsored candidates.<\/p>\n

    How many marks are required in NEET for AFMC?<\/h3>\n

    As per the previous year’s analysis of NEET cut off for AFMC, admission is likely to be granted with a NEET score around 630<\/strong>. The marks required in NEET for AFMC varies every year, based on various factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, number of NEET qualified aspirants, number of candidates applied for AFMC MBBS admission, number of seats, etc.<\/p>\n
