NEET is one of the most competitive entrance exams in India and it requires full dedication and effort from students in order to crack the exam. In this post, we will see some of the things to avoid in NEET preparation.<\/p>\n

10 Things to Avoid in NEET Preparation<\/h2>\n

1. Inconsistency and Procrastination<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Procrastination<\/a> is a lazy habit, you don\u2019t need this in NEET preparation. Finishing homework and assignments on time is a habit which helps in achieving your goal. Be consistent. Stick to your study plan. Getting stuck is fine. Staying stuck isn\u2019t. Do something. Clear your doubts asap.<\/p>\n

2. Multitasking<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Don’t study while you’re watching TV, getting sleepy, or thinking about something else not related to your preparation. Always study with full concentration. Don’t perform any other task when you are studying for NEET.<\/p>\n

3. Excessive TV, Mobile, Social media<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Avoid anything that can take your precious time, be it social media, mobile phones, games, TV, etc. NEET preparation needs your focus and dedication, rest of the things can wait.<\/p>\n

4. Ignoring NCERT textbooks<\/h3>\n

NCERT textbooks are the best books for NEET preparation. Never underestimate NCERT for other reference books and coaching materials.<\/p>\n

5. Quantity over quality<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Quality matters more than quantity for NEET. The number of books you read doesn’t increase your chances of success in NEET. You need to be aware of what\u2019s in the NEET syllabus<\/a> and avoid questions which are above the exam level.<\/p>\n

6. Not allowing flexibility in studies<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ideally your NEET timetable should cover all the subjects but sometimes when your mind says it\u2019s enough to study a subject for the day, then it\u2019s okay to move on to another subject. The adjustment is fine as long as you are finishing your daily work or assignment.<\/p>\n

7. Becoming sad due to low scores in tests<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Monthly or weekly tests in coaching or mock tests are just to evaluate your understanding and learning. It\u2019s a way to learn from your mistakes. Don’t get demotivated because of low scores in tests<\/a>. It’s a continuous effort till the exam day. Have patience, keep trying\u00a0and don’t give up.<\/p>\n

8. Long study hours without breaks<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Avoid long study hours if it results in fatigue. Small breaks after 45\u201360 minutes of study can improve your productivity.<\/p>\n

9. Relationships\/ Boyfriend\/ Girlfriend<\/h3>\n

Having a relationship while you are preparing for the NEET exam can be a big distraction and it may waste your valuable time.<\/p>\n

10. Negative people and thoughts<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Stay in the group of positive people who motivates you. Whether it\u2019s your friends, peers, parents and teachers, you need support from people around you.<\/p>\n

The distractions come due to lack of passion, interest and determination. If you badly want something, your aim is clear to achieve it. You\u2019ll have plenty of time later to spend your time enjoying things you miss out during the preparation.<\/em><\/p>\n
