Good morning everybody,
It’s Sunday 🙂 and time for our Weekly Exams Questions with Solution.
Every week from Monday to Thursday, we post questions (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics) on our social media learning platforms for the preparation of several examinations like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, BITSAT, AIPMT, AIIMS, State PMT, KVPY, NTSE, Olympiads.
For those who are not connected with Mystudycart on Social media: In-case you want real time experience of answering questions and clearing doubts, then be a part of our social media learning pages on Facebook or Google+.
(Update : From 2016, we are no longer posting regular questions on social platforms.)
Questions and answers from this week,
Biology Questions (Posted on Monday, September 21, 2015)
Q 1. Which statement is wrong for viruses. [For AIPMT Preparation]

b) All of them have helical symmetry
c) They have ability to synthesize nucleic acids and proteins
d) Antibiotics have no effect on them
Answer: b) All of them have helical symmetry
Q 2. Nitrogen oxides produced from the emission of automobiles and power plants are the source of fine air borne particles which lead to: [For AIIMS Preparation]
a) Photochemical smog
b) Dry acid deposition
c) Industrial smog
d) Wet acid deposition
Answer: b) Dry acid deposition
Chemistry Questions (Posted on September 22, 2015)
Q 1. Biuret test is not given by [For JEE Main Preparation]
a) Carbohydrates
b) Polypeptides
c) Urea
d) Proteins
Answer: a) Carbohydrates
Q 2. The method of zone refining of metals is based on the principle of [For AIPMT Preparation]
a) greater noble character of the solid metal than that of the impurity
b) greater solubility of the impurity in the molten state than in the solid
c) greater mobility of the pure metal than that of impurity
d) higher melting point of the impurity than that of the pure metal
Answer: b) greater solubility of the impurity in the molten state than in the solid
Physics Questions (Posted on September 23, 2015)
Q 1. The Moon is constantly falling towards the Earth. [For NTSE Preparation]
a) This statement is absurd
b) This statement is correct
c) This statement is wrong
d) Nothing can be said
Answer: b) This statement is correct
Explanation: The Moon is freely falling toward Earth, But it is also moving “sideways” quite quickly, so that it “misses” Earth and passes to the side. It is moving in an orbit. That’s why the moon not crash into the Earth.
The orbital speed of the moon is constant, but the direction continually changes.
Q 2. The lens used in the Camera is : [For NTSE SAT Preparation]
a) Convex Lens
b) Concave Lens
c) Biconvex Lens
d) Biconcave Lens
Answer: a) Convex Lens
Mathematics Questions (Posted on September 24, 2015)
Q 1. The chord of maximum length in a circle is called : [NTSE Mathematics]
a) Radius
b) Arc
c) Diameter
d) Point
Answer: c) Diameter
Q 2. The perimeter of square and circumference of circle are equal, the area of square is 121 meter per square then the area of circle is : [NTSE Stage1 Mathematics]
a) 7 π meter per square
b) 14 π meter per square
c) 21 π meter per square
d) 49 π meter per square
Solution:
Given, Area of square = 121 meter per square
so, side = 11 m
Perimeter of square = 44 m
So, circumference of circle = 44 m
2πr = 44
r = 7 m
So, area of circle = π x 7 x 7 = 49π
So the correct answer is d) 49 π meter per square
Bonus Mathematics Quiz Question (Posted on September 24, 2015)
Can you make 10 from the numbers 1, 1, 5, and 8?
You can use the operations + – × ÷ () and you don’t have to use each operation.
You have to use all the numbers, and use each number exactly once.
You cannot use exponents.
Can you find the answer?
Solution: It’s a tricky question asked by Google in the commercial of Nexus 7.
Presh Talwalkar, A Mathematics expert from MindYourDecisions have explained this in below video:
So, that’s it from this week.
I will see you next Sunday with a new set of questions.
Thanks so much. Take care.
